Fosroc Nitobond SBR is a modified styrene-butadiene rubber emulsion (SBR latex) for improving cementitious mixes. Adding it to cement mortars significantly enhances bond strength, waterproofing, freeze-thaw resistance, and durability, while allowing thin-layer application. Product Overview
Nitobond SBR is a modified styrene-butadiene rubber emulsion supplied as a ready-to-use white liquid. It is designed to improve the quality of site-batched cementitious mortars and slurries. Resistant to hydrolysis, it is suitable for both internal and external applications. When added to cement mortars, it improves cohesion and workability, provides waterproof repairs, renders and toppings with high freeze-thaw resistance. Improved tensile and flexural properties allow thin-layer applications. It provides excellent bond to concrete, masonry, stonework, plaster, and blockboard.

Important Notes
- Not suitable for application when temperature is low and falling
- Must not be exposed to running water during application; heavy rain before final set may cause surface scour
- Modified mortars must be cured immediately after finishing in accordance with good concrete practice
- Bonding slurry primer must not dry before repair mortar application; remove and re-prime if dried
- Protect from frost during storage
- Shelf life is twelve months in unopened packs
- Alkaline when mixed with cement — wear gloves, goggles, and protective clothing
