Product Overview

Unicell 40 is a prepacked vinyl acetate copolymer modified mortar requiring only the addition of clean water to produce a mortar suitable for concrete repair and rendering. Conforms to the Hong Kong Housing Authority specification for Class 40 repair mortar system. Certified under the HKCI Product Conformity Certification Scheme PCCS-RM: Class 40. Can be applied in thick section, suitable for structural and non-structural application. Layers of 40 mm can be achieved depending upon substrate profile and technique.

Notes

Remove all defective concrete to a sound substrate; remove loose rust and scale from exposed reinforcement
Cut around the perimeter of the repair area to a minimum depth of 6 mm to avoid feather edges
Primer ratio: Unicell Primer : Cement = 1:1.5 by volume OR 1:2.0 by weight
Mixing: whole bag of Unicell 40 with 4-4.5 litres clean water using a mechanical mixer
Application thickness should be between 6-40 mm per layer
Intermediate layers should be primed before the next layer is applied
Minimum cover to reinforcement should be 10 mm
Store in undamaged, unopened original sealed packaging in dry conditions; protect from direct sunlight, moisture, and frost

What is the difference between Unicell 40 and Unicell 25?

Unicell 40 is a Class 40 high-strength structural repair mortar (28-day compressive strength 48 MPa, elastic modulus 18 GPa), while Unicell 25 is a Class 25 repair mortar (28-day compressive strength 30 MPa, elastic modulus 10 GPa). Class 40 is suitable for structural repairs to higher-strength concrete.

What is the maximum layer thickness?

6-40 mm per layer. Greater thickness may be possible when filling pockets. For multi-layer application, prime the previous layer before applying the next once it has hardened.
