Important Notes
Substrate must be sound, clean, free of oil and loose materials, and dampened with clean water before application
A bonding coat slurry of Sika Latex mixed with cement should be applied to the substrate before applying SikaRep-25 HB
For repairs exceeding 50 mm, apply in layers, ensuring each layer has sufficiently hardened before the next
If the previous layer is over 48 hours old, scabble the surface and re-dampen
Protect from direct sunlight and wind during curing — cover with wet hessian or curing membrane
Clean tools and equipment with water while mortar is still fresh
FAQ
What is the difference between SikaRep-25 HB and Renderoc HB25?
Both are Class 25 repair mortars with similar functionality. SikaRep-25 HB is manufactured by Sika and contains polymer fibre reinforcement. Renderoc HB25 is manufactured by Fosroc. The choice typically depends on the brand specified for the project.
How to choose between Class 25 and Class 40 repair mortar?
Class 25 mortar is suitable for general repair work with 28-day compressive strength exceedingmeets Class 25 standard. Class 40 offers higher strength for structural repairs. Use Class 25 for general maintenance and Class 40 for structural applications.
What is the pot life of SikaRep-25 HB?
According to the product data sheet, the pot life is approximately 40 minutes. The mortar should be packed firmly into the repair cavity using a rendering technique rather than placing, to ensure thorough compaction and eliminate voids.
