Optimix BP126 is a locally manufactured pre-mixed base plaster (polymer-modified cementitious formula). Suitable for interior and exterior concrete and masonry wall rendering and levelling, applied by machine spray or hand. Compliant with BS8481 + EN998-1 standards.

Typical workflow: apply BP126 as base coat for coarse levelling, allow to dry, then apply BP138 as finishing coat. For waterproofing requirements, use BP138 (waterproof base plaster).
Application Method
- Substrate preparation — clean wall surface, remove loose material and dust
- Dampen substrate — spray water to dampen surface before application
- Mixing — add clean water and mix with power mixer until uniform
- Application — machine spray or hand apply, controlling thickness per product guidelines
- Levelling — level surface with straight edge
- Curing — water-spray cure as required

How does BP126 differ from traditional sand/cement render?
BP126 is a factory pre-mixed polymer-modified mortar with consistent quality and precise formulation, unaffected by worker experience. Traditional sand/cement render requires on-site proportioning and quality varies. Pre-mixed render simply adds water, significantly improving application speed.
Do I need both BP126 and BP138?
Depends on the project. If walls are uneven and need coarse levelling, apply BP126 first. If a smooth fine finish is required (pre-paint), follow with BP138. For simple renovation, BP126 alone may suffice.
Can BP126 be spray-applied?
Yes. BP126 is specifically formulated for machine spray application. On large projects, spray application dramatically increases productivity. Hand application also works well.
