Nitoproof 30 is a multi-purpose rubberised bitumen emulsion by Fosroc, supplied as a single-component liquid and applied by brush or squeegee. Dries to form a black, flexible film. Versatile uses include: damp proof membrane for retaining walls, vapour barrier for panels, repairing fine cracks in asphalt surfaces, and also serves as an adhesive for flooring materials and insulation boards, and as a concrete curing membrane. Suitable for most common building materials.
Features
- Excellent adhesion — Bonds well to most common building materials
- Low water vapour permeability — Effective damp-proofing and vapour sealing
- Suitable for green concrete — Can be applied to freshly struck concrete surfaces
- Resistant to sulphates and ground salts — Withstands aggressive ground conditions
- Flexible film — Rubber latex imparts elasticity to the dried coating
- Multi-purpose adhesive — Bonds cork panels, insulation boards, expanded polystyrene and more
- Simple application — Applied by brush or squeegee
Applications
- Retaining wall damp proof membrane — Below-ground damp-proofing treatment
- Vapour barrier for panels — Effective moisture vapour seal
- Asphalt surface repair — Repairing fine cracks in asphalt surfaces
- Flooring adhesive — Bonding wood blocks, cork tiles, asphalt tiles and more
- Insulation adhesive — Bonding polystyrene boards, fibreboards and cork slabs to walls and floors
- Concrete curing membrane — Complies with ASTM C309 curing requirements (per manufacturer)
Packaging
20KG drum (single component liquid, ready to use)
Notes
- All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil and grease
- Can be applied to damp surfaces provided no free water is present
- When used as damp proof membrane, multiple coats are required; vertical surfaces should be coated in layers to prevent sagging
- Where surface is to receive render or plaster, the second coat should be gritted with clean dry sand to form a keyed surface
- Not a structural adhesive — mechanical fixing should be used where appropriate
- Avoid application during windy conditions
- For harsh climatic conditions, Nitoproof 600 series is recommended
- Can be cleaned with water while still damp
- For detailed application methods, coverage rates and technical parameters, please refer to the official product data sheet
FAQ
What is the difference between Nitoproof 30 and 600PF?
Nitoproof 30 is a rubberised bitumen emulsion primarily for below-ground damp-proofing, vapour barriers and adhesive applications — more economical and suited for large-area foundation works. 600PF is a polyurethane elastic waterproofing membrane with higher waterproofing performance and elasticity, suitable for exposed environments such as rooftops. For harsh climatic conditions, the 600 series is recommended.
What substrates can it be applied to?
Suitable for concrete, brickwork, metals, stone and most common building materials. Can be applied to damp surfaces (but not where free water is present) and also to freshly struck green concrete. Contact us via WhatsApp for details.
