TL;DR:

Fosroc Cebex 100 is a plasticised expanding powder admixture for cementitious grouts and concrete. It reduces the water/cement ratio while producing controlled positive expansion to compensate for plastic shrinkage and settlement, ensuring tight contact between grout and substrate.

Product Overview

Cebex 100 is supplied as a powder admixture combining a plasticising agent and a gas-producing expansion medium. The plasticising agent allows a reduced water/cement ratio while maintaining grout fluidity, resulting in improved strength and durability. The expansive medium counteracts natural settlement and plastic shrinkage, enhancing stability and cohesion. The resulting restrained expansion ensures a high degree of interfacial contact between the grout and surrounding surfaces. The product is compatible with all types of Portland cement.

Key Features

  • Shrinkage and settlement compensation — Gaseous expansion system counteracts plastic shrinkage and settlement in cementitious grouts
  • Low permeability, high durability — Reduced water/cement ratio ensures low permeability and long-term durability
  • High fluidity — Maintains high grout fluidity at low water/cement ratios for easy placement or injection
  • Iron-free — No metallic iron content to corrode and cause staining or rust expansion damage
  • Chloride-free — Contains no chlorides that could affect reinforcement
  • Rapid early strength — Enables high early strength development in grouts
  • No effect on setting time — Does not significantly alter setting times of cement-based grouts

Applications

  • Bed grouting
  • Duct grouting
  • Non-shrink infilling
  • Jointing
  • Pre-stressing grout (per manufacturer, compliant with relevant standards)

Packaging

20KG bags.

Important Notes

  • Not compatible with High Alumina Cement — do not use together
  • Overdosing increases expansion and may cause frothing
  • Grout must be placed promptly after mixing to gain full benefit of the expansion process
  • Areas to be grouted must be clean, sound, and pre-wetted
  • Exposed surfaces must be properly cured after grouting
  • Shelf life is twelve months in dry storage in original packaging
  • High temperature and humidity storage may reduce shelf life
  • Wear gloves, eye protection, and dust masks during handling
  • For detailed application methods, dosage rates, and technical parameters, please refer to the official product data sheet

FAQ

What is the difference between Cebex 100 and pre-mixed grouts like Conbextra GP?

Cebex 100 is an admixture that must be combined with your own cement and water, offering flexibility to adjust mix proportions. Conbextra GP is a pre-mixed grout — just add water for a ready-to-use solution. For simple, convenient grouting, choose the Conbextra range. For flexible mix design control, choose Cebex 100 with your own cement.

Which types of cement is Cebex 100 compatible with?

Cebex 100 is compatible with all types of Portland cement but must not be used with High Alumina Cement. It can also be used in mixes containing certain other Fosroc admixtures — please contact us for details.
