Nitomortar TC2000 is a Fosroc two-component thixotropic epoxy resin sealing compound based on high-quality solvent-free epoxy resin systems. Used to seal cracks in concrete in aggressive environments, as a pore sealer on horizontal and vertical surfaces, and for tile fixing and bedding. Thixotropic formulation will not slump — can be applied to vertical surfaces and trowelled into blow holes. Cures to a completely impermeable surface ready for over-coating. Standard colour grey. Supplied in pre-weighed packs for site mixing.
Product Overview
Nitomortar TC2000 is a two-component thixotropic sealing compound based on high-quality solvent-free epoxy resin systems. Supplied in pre-weighed quantities ready for on-site mixing and use. Once cured, it forms a completely impermeable surface ready for over-coating. Smooth paste consistency for easy application and finishing. Available in grey as standard.
Features
- Non-slump thixotropic — can be applied to vertical surfaces and trowelled into blow holes without formwork
- Superior bond strength — excellent adhesion to virtually all substrates
- Smooth paste consistency — easy to apply and finish
- Good chemical resistance — suited for sealing in aggressive environments
- Solvent-free — one hundred percent volume solids, no shrinkage on cure
- Compatible over-coating — ready for epoxy coating systems
Applications
- Surface sealing of cracks in structural materials such as concrete in aggressive environments
- Pore sealing on horizontal and vertical surfaces to eliminate minor irregularities
- Substrate preparation prior to Nitocote and Nitoflor epoxy and urethane coatings
- Tile fixing and bedding
Application Guidelines
- Surface preparation — remove dust, oil, paint, rust and unsound material; high-pressure water jetting or light abrasive blasting recommended
- No primer required — no independent priming system needed
- Mixing — add entire hardener to base and mix mechanically to uniform grey colour
- Application — apply by spatula, filling knife or steel float, tight-trowelling to ensure all blow holes and defects are filled
- Multiple layers — additional layers can be applied within the specified time window; beyond this, abrade the surface before recoating
- Finishing — trowel ridges can be brushed out while wet or ground down with carborundum stone after curing
Packaging
5 kg and 10 kg packs (pre-weighed two-component)
Notes
- Never mix part packs under any circumstances
- Must not be exposed to water during application; heavy rainfall may cause surface scour before final set
- Do not apply when temperature is low and falling
- High temperatures shorten pot life and working time; avoid application in direct sunlight
- Avoid skin and eye contact — wear appropriate protective equipment
- Clean tools with Fosroc Solvent 102; cured material can only be removed mechanically
- Shelf life: twelve months in original unopened containers stored in dry conditions (per manufacturer)
- For detailed application methods, coverage rates and technical parameters, refer to the official product data sheet
FAQ
What type of material is Nitomortar TC2000?
TC2000 is a two-component solvent-free epoxy resin sealing compound, mixed from base and hardener on site. Its thixotropic formulation allows vertical surface application without slumping, and it cures to a completely impermeable surface.
Can it be applied to vertical surfaces and ceilings?
Yes. TC2000 has thixotropic properties — it will not slump or sag after application, making it suitable for vertical surfaces. It can be trowelled into blow holes and applied up to several millimetres thick in a single coat without formwork.
How much does it cost?
