Thioflex 600 is a multi-component polysulphide rubber sealant (Gun Grade) by Fosroc, designed for sealing movement joints in buildings. Cures to form a tough, elastic rubber seal suitable for both vertical and horizontal joints. Excellent chemical resistance against fuels, diesel, dilute acids, dilute alkalis and lubricating oils, compliant with BS 4254, ISO 11600 and ASTM C920 international standards. FAQ
What is the difference between Thioflex 600 and Colpor 200?
Both are fuel-resistant joint sealants. Thioflex 600 is a polysulphide rubber (multi-component) with more comprehensive chemical resistance against fuels, dilute acids, dilute alkalis and various chemicals, suitable for both vertical and horizontal joints. Colpor 200 is a polyurethane cold-pour type for horizontal joints only. For environments with multiple chemicals or vertical joint sealing, Thioflex 600 is recommended.
Can it be used on vertical joints?
Yes. This product is Gun Grade (non-sag formulation), suitable for both vertical and horizontal joints. For horizontal-only applications (e.g. floor expansion joints), the Pouring Grade (self-levelling) is also available.
Does Thioflex 600 require a primer?
It depends on the substrate. Porous substrates (e.g. concrete, brickwork, morite) must be primed to ensure adhesion. Non-porous substrates generally do not require primer, except glass and ceramics in water immersion conditions. Please refer to the TDS for full details.
