Important Notes
- Substrate must be sound, dry, clean, free of oil and removable contaminants
- Open-textured mortar or concrete should be primed with diluted Monoprufe RTU 801 (1 part product to 3 parts water) or Sikalastic-500 Acrylic Primer HK at ~0.3 kg/m²
- New concrete must cure for 28 days before application
- After rain, allow substrate to dry for 3 days before application
- Use fibre-reinforced detailing coat over open joints, corners, and stress points
- Product is pre-blended; slight separation after storage is normal and can be corrected by gentle re-mixing
- Clean tools with water immediately after use
FAQ
How does Monoprufe RTU 801 compare to standard acrylic waterproofing paint?
Monoprufe RTU 801 is a polyurethane acrylic copolymer with >300% elongation, far exceeding standard acrylic waterproofing paints (~100% elongation). This high elasticity effectively bridges cracks and accommodates structural movement. It is also UV stable without yellowing, making it ideal for exposed roofs and external walls.
Is a primer coat required?
Porous or open-textured concrete and mortar substrates should receive a primer coat (Monoprufe RTU 801 diluted 1:3 with water, or Sikalastic-500 Acrylic Primer HK) at approximately 0.3 kg/m². Smooth or non-porous substrates can be coated directly.
What is the consumption rate per square metre?
For roof waterproofing, approximately 2 kg/m² (2 coats at 1 kg/m² each). For wall waterproofing, approximately 1.5 kg/m² (2 coats at 0.75 kg/m² each). Actual consumption depends on substrate porosity and roughness.
