Sika Ronacrete Ronafix

Sika Ronacrete Ronafix

Size
Quick Summary:

Ronafix® is Sika Ronacrete's classic SBR mortar admixture, available since 1969. When added to cement mortar, it significantly improves waterproofing, bond strength and compressive strength, allows thin section application down to 6mm, and provides freeze/thaw resistance after curing. Suitable for internal and external use.

Ronafix Product Features

Ronafix® is a single part modified styrene butadiene (SBR) liquid additive for cement mortars which enhances physical and chemical properties. Mortars containing Ronafix can be applied in thin section (minimum 6mm), and once cured are waterproof and resistant to freeze/thaw cycling, with monolithic adhesion to building substrates. Ronafix is supplied as a milky white liquid and is diluted with water according to the specified mix design before adding to cement, sand and aggregate. As a priming or bonding coat, Ronafix is used with cement only to provide adhesion between substrate and mortar.

  • Proven track record since 1969 — over 55 years of proven performance
  • Mortars can be applied in thin section — minimum 6mm
  • High compressive, tensile and flexural strengths
  • Cured mortars are waterproof and resistant to freeze/thaw cycling
  • Monolithic adhesion to building substrates
  • Mortars, toppings and renders more resistant to mild chemical attack
  • Low VOC
  • Suitable for internal and external use

Applications

  • Floor Screeds — Thin to thick section high-strength floor screed repairs and overlays
  • Concrete Repair — Spalling and concrete patch repair
  • Waterproof Renders — Bathroom, roof and basement waterproof plastering
  • Slurry Coats — Levelling and protective slurry coats
  • Heavy Duty Floor Toppings — Car parks, warehouses and high-traffic areas
  • Steel Reinforcement Protection — Anti-corrosion primer and protective coating for rebar

FAQ

What is the difference between Ronafix and other SBR admixtures?

Ronafix is Ronacrete's premium SBR mortar admixture with a proven track record since 1969. Compared to generic SBR products, Ronafix delivers higher compressive and flexural strengths and has over 55 years of proven performance in construction projects worldwide.

Can Ronafix waterproof mortar?

Yes. Mortars modified with Ronafix are waterproof after curing and resistant to freeze/thaw cycling. According to the product data sheet, water vapour permeability can be reduced by up to 96%. Suitable for bathroom waterproof renders, rooftop waterproofing, basement tanking and more.

How do I use Ronafix? What are the mix ratios?

Mix Ronafix with water at the specified ratio (typically 1:1 to 3:1 depending on application), then add cement and sand. As a bond coat, mix Ronafix with cement only (no sand) and brush onto the substrate. Refer to the product data sheet for detailed mix designs or contact us via WhatsApp.
