Important Notes

  • DO NOT add water
  • Avoid application in direct sun and/or strong wind and/or rain
  • Apply only to sound, prepared substrates
  • NOT recommended for use with fast-setting concrete or mortars (e.g. Sika MonoTop®-211 FG / RFG)
  • Concrete substrate must be clean, pre-wetted to a dark matt appearance without standing water
  • Steel reinforcement must be cleaned to SA 2 (per ISO 8501-1) using abrasive blasting or high-pressure water
  • Mix with low-speed drill (< 250 rpm): combine A+B for 30 seconds, slowly add C, mix for minimum 3 minutes, stand 5–10 minutes until brush-able, weakly dripping consistency
  • Corrosion protection: apply first layer ~1 mm, apply second layer when first is hard to fingernail (~2–3 hours at +20°C), apply repair mortars wet on dry
  • Bonding primer: brush or spray onto substrate filling all pores (min. 0.5 mm), apply repair mortars wet on wet
  • Clean tools immediately with water — hardened material can only be removed mechanically

FAQ

What is SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem used for?

SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem is a 3-component cementitious epoxy resin coating with corrosion inhibitor. It has two main uses: coating exposed reinforcement for corrosion protection, and serving as a bonding primer for concrete repair works. It is not a general-purpose epoxy adhesive and is not suitable for crack injection or steel plate bonding.

How do I mix and apply SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem?

Mix the three components (A white liquid + B colourless liquid + C grey powder) with a low-speed drill. Pour A and B into a container, mix for 30 seconds, then slowly add C powder. Mix for at least 3 minutes and let stand 5–10 minutes. Apply with a medium hard brush or spray gun. For rebar corrosion protection, apply two coats of ~1 mm each. Pot life is approximately 3 hours at +20°C. Do NOT add water.

What repair mortars is it compatible with?

SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem is compatible with most Sika MonoTop® repair mortars. It is NOT recommended for use with fast-setting mortars such as Sika MonoTop®-211 FG / RFG. Always apply repair mortars while the coating is still wet (wet-on-wet for bonding primer use).
