Documents
SikaFix-101 is a single component TDI polyurethane injection resin — solvent-free, low viscosity — that reacts with water to form a flexible, closed-cell waterproof seal. Designed for sealing leaking cracks, pipe penetrations, and honeycombed concrete in tunnels, basements, and structures below the water table. Supplied in 20 kg pails with a 2-year shelf life.
Product Overview
SikaFix-101 is a single component TDI polyurethane resin for crack injection. On contact with water, it reacts rapidly, expands, and forms a flexible closed-cell foam seal that prevents further water infiltration. Solvent-free and non-flammable, it is safe for use in confined spaces and cures to a non-toxic state.
Key Features
- Totally water resistant — forms closed-cell flexible foam seal
- Permanently flexible — accommodates ongoing movement in live cracks
- Solvent-free and non-flammable — safe for confined space work
- No shrinkage — stable, long-lasting fill
- Non-toxic in cured form
- Reacts with salt water — suitable for marine environments
- Rapid reaction — foaming starts within 95 seconds at 25°C (1:1 water ratio)
- Resistant to biological attack and mild acids/alkalis
Applications
- Sealing leaking live crack movement joints in tunnels and galleries
- Basement and underground structure leak repair
- Concrete waterproofing below the water table
- Pipe intrusion and penetration sealing
- Filling defective concrete — honeycombs, voids, and cavities
- Construction joint water infiltration treatment
Why Choose SikaFix-101?
- Direct water-activated sealing — inject directly into water-bearing cracks; reacts and expands on contact
- Flexible seal — permanently flexible, will not crack with structural movement
- Harsh environment compatible — works with salt water, resists mild acids and alkalis
- Safe application — solvent-free, non-flammable, non-toxic when cured
- Sika quality — backed by a globally trusted construction chemical brand

Application Notes
- Apply using a high-pressure single action piston pump, or twin piston pump (mixed with water 1:1 for varied foam densities)
- For cracks wider than 10 mm, pre-pack with open-cell foam saturated with SikaFix-101, then spray with water to activate
- Lower temperatures extend foaming time by approximately 10% per 5°C reduction
- Material exposed to atmospheric moisture will cure within 7–10 days — use promptly after opening
- Clean tools with Sika Colma-Cleaner or Thinner C
- Expanding material exerts up to 3 bar pressure — consider structural impact
FAQ
What is the expansion ratio of SikaFix-101?
It depends on the water-to-resin mixing ratio: 1:1 gives approximately 3× expansion, while 1:4 gives approximately 7× expansion (at 25°C). Lower temperatures will extend the foaming time.
Can SikaFix-101 be used in salt water environments?
Yes. SikaFix-101 reacts with salt water and is suitable for coastal and underground saline water leak sealing applications.
How long does SikaFix-101 take to cure?
Full cure takes approximately 24 hours. The foaming reaction begins within minutes of injection (approximately 95–120 seconds at 25°C), but final strength is achieved after 24 hours.
