FAQ

Can Sikagard 62 be used for drinking water facilities?

Yes. Sikagard®-62 is WRAS approved (test report M104991, 2011) and meets BS 6920-1:2000 for contact with wholesome water, making it suitable for lining drinking water storage tanks and reservoirs.

How many coats are required?

A minimum of 2–3 layers at approximately 0.30 kg/m² per layer (~0.2 mm per layer). A glass fabric reinforced system is also available for enhanced performance — contact Sika Technical Services for details.

How long does full cure take?

At +20°C, full cure takes approximately 10 days. At +10°C it extends to about 14 days, while at +30°C it shortens to about 5 days. The coating must be protected from mechanical damage until fully cured.
