*Mix 1 & Mix 2: If thickness > 12 mm, add 25 kg extra sand.
**Mix 3: Semi-dry screeds > 25 mm require only 4 kg SikaLatex®.
Note: Keep water content as low as possible. Maximum thickness is 40 mm per layer.
Important Notes
- Never use pure SikaLatex® or SikaLatex®-water mix directly onto the substrate as a bonding bridge — always add cement and sand to the mix
- Substrate must be thoroughly clean, free from dust, loose material, oil, and contaminants
- For bonding bridge application, pre-wet the substrate for approx. 2 hours; keep surface wet but free of standing water
- Finish mortar topping with wood float or steel trowel; prevent rapid drying using polythene or curing compounds
- Store in original sealed packaging in dry, cool conditions away from direct sunlight, frost, and contamination

FAQ
What is SikaLatex used for?
SikaLatex is a styrene butadiene emulsion used as a bonding agent and mortar admixture. It is added to cement-sand mixes to improve adhesion, reduce shrinkage, increase abrasion resistance, and lower permeability. Common applications include renders, screeds, patch repair mortars, and masonry mortars.
How do I mix SikaLatex?
The mix ratio depends on the application. For bonding coats, mix 1 part SikaLatex to 1 part cement. For mortar, typically use 7–9 kg SikaLatex per 50 kg cement with sand and water. First mix SikaLatex with water to form a gauging solution, then slowly add the cement-sand mix while stirring until smooth and lump-free. Refer to the mix ratio table above for detailed proportions.
What packaging sizes are available?
SikaLatex is available in 1.2 kg, 4 kg, 18 kg, and 20 kg pails, as well as 200 kg drums — suitable for small domestic repairs through to large construction sites. Contact us via WhatsApp for pricing and availability.
