Tested to EN 1366-4, it provides long fire-resistance performance, can be overpainted once cured, needs no primer, and carries CE marking and a European Technical Assessment.

Product description

Sikacryl 620 Fire uses a water-based acrylic formulation for fire-rated joint sealing on porous and non-porous substrates. It applies directly with no primer or activator, can be overpainted once cured, is low-VOC (GEV-EMICODE EC1PLUS) and meets LEED v4 green-building requirements.

Key features

  • Certified fire performance — tested to EN 1366-4, providing long fire resistance (up to 4 hours; actual rating depends on joint design and the tested system)
  • Water-based, low VOC — passes GEV-EMICODE EC1PLUS, meets LEED v4
  • Overpaintable — can be painted once cured to suit decorative requirements
  • No primer or activator — applies directly on clean, dry substrates
  • Good adhesion — adheres well to many common substrates, with good workability

Main uses

  • Fire-rated joint sealing in walls
  • Fire-rated joint sealing in floors
  • Linear joint fire-stopping between fire compartments
  • Fire sealing around pipe and cable penetrations
  • Fire-rated joints on porous (concrete, brick, mortar) and non-porous substrates

⚠️ Not suitable for floor joints, sanitary joints, natural stone or civil-engineering applications, and must not be used where subject to water pressure or long-term immersion.

Why choose Sikacryl 620 Fire

  • Passive fire protection — certified fire resistance, meeting linear-joint fire-stopping requirements

  • International certification — CE marking, ETA 20/1115, EN 13501 fire classification, BS 476 test reports and IMO marine approval

Application notes

  • Substrate must be clean, dry and free of oil and loose material
  • No primer or activator needed — apply directly
  • Tool the sealant flat after application to ensure full contact with both joint faces
  • For neat joint lines, use masking tape and remove before skinning
  • Tool with clean water; do not use solvent-based tooling agents
  • Avoid structural movement and sharp temperature swings during application
  • Clean tools with water immediately after use; once cured, remove mechanically only
