Color
Quick Summary:

Ronabond® Super Tile Adhesive-SP is a single component polymer modified cement-based super tile adhesive — just add water. Suitable for thin or thick bed (3–6mm) fixing of large ceramic tiles, terracotta, slate and porcelain tiles, with superior bond strength and flexibility (S1 deformable class). Conforms to EN 12004 C2TES1 and certified CIC Platinum grade environmental friendly product.

Product Features

Ronabond® Super Tile Adhesive-SP by Sika Ronacrete is a single component polymer modified cement-based super tile adhesive, supplied as a pre-bagged 25 kg product requiring only the addition of water. It has superior adhesion and water resistant properties which are not affected by the presence of moisture. Ronabond® Super Tile Adhesive-SP is compatible with most cementitious waterproofing membranes and cement-based substrates, suitable for both internal and external applications.

  • Single component, pre-bagged — just add water for control and convenience
  • Simple to mix and easy to apply
  • Waterproof and water resistant — not affected by moisture
  • Superior bond strength (>1 MPa)
  • Flexible to accommodate movement (S1 deformable class, transverse deformation ≥2.5mm)
  • Conforms to EN 12004 C2TES1
  • PCCS-TA C2TES1 certified
  • CIC Platinum grade environmental friendly product (CICGPC-L-21178)
  • Low VOC

Applications

  • Large Tiles & Stone — High strength bonding of large ceramic tiles, terracotta, slate and porcelain tiles
  • Internal & External — Wall and floor tile installation on cement-based substrates
  • Swimming Pools — Areas exposed to constant immersion
  • Kitchens & Bathrooms — Kitchens, bathrooms, showers, lobbies and constantly damp areas

Why Choose Ronabond Super Tile Adhesive SP

The key advantage of Ronabond® Super Tile Adhesive-SP is its single component design — just add water, with no liquid additive required, significantly simplifying the application process. The product features S1 deformable class (transverse deformation ≥2.5mm), effectively absorbing substrate movement and thermal expansion/contraction stresses to reduce the risk of tile debonding. Bond performance remains above 1 MPa even after water immersion, heat aging and freeze-thaw cycling. Certified CIC Platinum grade environmental friendly product, suitable for projects with sustainability requirements.

Pot Life Approx. 2 hours
Open Time > 30 minutes EN 12004

Application Method

  1. Substrate Preparation — Remove all debris, surface snots, loose material or mould release oil. Thoroughly saturate the substrate with clean, cold water
  2. Mixing — Place approximately 6 litres of clean water into the mixing vessel, then slowly add the full 25 kg bag of powder. Mix continuously for at least 3 minutes using an electric drill with paddle until a uniform homogeneous paste is achieved. Allow to rest for at least 5 minutes, then re-mix for 1 minute before use. Mixed adhesive must be used within 2 hours
  3. Application — Spread the adhesive onto the surface using a straight edged plastering trowel, then comb with a notched trowel to form ribs. Check surface tackiness with a finger before placing tiles. Set and tap tiles well into place, ensuring void-free contact. Check for complete adhesive contact by prizing off a tile
  4. Grouting — Ronafix® Colour Grout is recommended. Open joints are not recommended; contact Sika Technical Department if required
  5. Movement Joints — Form movement joints in accordance with BS 5385. Fill joints using Sikaflex® Joint Sealant
  6. Cleaning — Clean all tools with clean water immediately after use. Use a damp sponge to remove surplus adhesive from tile surfaces

Notes: Do not exceed the recommended water dosage. Apply only to sound, prepared substrates. Do not exceed the maximum layer thickness. Protect freshly applied material from freezing conditions and rain. Do not attempt to dampen the applied adhesive to extend the open time, as this interferes with bond performance. Mixed adhesive should be kept in the mixing vessel and protected from direct sunlight. All technical data is based on laboratory tests; actual values may vary. FAQ

What is the difference between Ronabond Super Tile Adhesive SP and regular tile adhesive?

Ronabond Super Tile Adhesive SP conforms to EN 12004 C2TES1, classified as improved (2), extended open time (E), slip resistant (T) and deformable (S1). Compared to standard C1 class adhesives, it offers higher bond strength, longer open time (>30 minutes) and flexibility to accommodate substrate movement.

Is Ronabond Super Tile Adhesive SP single or dual component?

Single component product — just add water. Mix approximately 6 litres of clean water per 25 kg bag of powder. No separate liquid additive required, making application more convenient.

What are the open time and pot life?

The open time (time after application before tiles can be placed) is over 30 minutes. The pot life is approximately 2 hours — mixed adhesive must be used within 2 hours of initial mixing.

Does Ronabond Super Tile Adhesive SP have environmental certification?

Yes, the product is certified CIC (Construction Industry Council) Platinum grade environmental friendly product (CICGPC-L-21178), with low VOC content. Suitable for projects with sustainability requirements.
