Tile Adhesive

Summary:

Select tile adhesive by tile or stone type, size, water absorption, substrate, wall or floor location, interior or exterior exposure and working time. Cementitious, ready-to-use and resin-based adhesives have different scopes, while traditional methods and premixed products each have suitable applications.

Selection guide

EN 12004 classification: C denotes cementitious, D dispersion and R reaction-resin adhesives. The 1/2, T, E, F and S suffixes indicate the relevant additional properties; select by the complete product classification.
Optimix TA313: A Semi-Flexible cementitious tile adhesive used within its C1TE classification and technical-data scope.
Optimix TA328/TA328S: Both are selected under their C2TE S1 classification. TA328S has enhanced efflorescence resistance, which is not a guarantee of zero efflorescence.
Optimix SA329: A C2FT fast-setting stone-floor adhesive focused on specified floor-stone applications, not a general wall-tile adhesive.
Selection factors: Check primer, substrate flatness, open time, back-buttering, joints and exterior or external-wall project requirements.

A product classification does not replace the complete technical data. Large-format tiles, stone, external walls, pools, existing tiles and unusual substrates require the associated system to be checked against the project specification.
