Overview:
Mapei Kerabond T is a cementitious non-slip tile adhesive (EN 12004 class C1T, per manufacturer data), suitable for indoor and outdoor installation of all types of ceramic tiles and mosaics on floors, walls and ceilings, with good bonding strength and slip resistance.
Product Overview
Developed by Mapei in Italy, Kerabond T is a cementitious tile adhesive that is simply mixed with water before use. The product features excellent non-slip properties — tiles will not slide on vertical surfaces, allowing top-to-bottom installation without spacer pegs, making it ideal for all types of wall tiling work. After curing, shrinkage is minimal, providing stable bonding to common construction substrates.
When mixed with Mapei Isolastic latex (replacing water), performance is upgraded to C2ES2 class (per manufacturer data) — a highly deformable improved cementitious adhesive with extended open time, suitable for more demanding applications.
Key Features
Non-slip — tiles stay in place on vertical and ceiling surfaces; top-to-bottom installation possible
Strong bonding — excellent adhesion to rendered surfaces, concrete, cement mortar and other common substrates
Extended working time — long pot life after mixing, convenient for large-area applications
Low shrinkage — minimal shrinkage after curing, reducing risk of debonding
Low emissions — EMICODE EC1 R Plus certified (per manufacturer data), very low VOC emissions
Versatile — can be combined with Isolastic to upgrade performance class for demanding conditions
Applications
Indoor and outdoor floor and wall installation of all types of ceramic tiles (glazed, full-body, quarry tiles, paper-faced and mesh-backed mosaics, etc.)
Tiling on rendered and cement mortar surfaces
Tiling on concrete slabs and reinforced concrete floating slabs
Gypsum substrates and anhydrite screeds (primer required)
Spot-bonding insulating panels (EPS, polyurethane, rock wool, etc.)
Recommended to Use with Isolastic
Foamed concrete walls
Pre-cast or cast-in-place concrete structures
Over underfloor heating systems
Large-format tiles
Glass mosaics
Stable and moisture-proof stone materials
Not Suitable For
Wooden substrates
Gypsum board walls
Metal, rubber, PVC and linoleum surfaces
Tiles requiring an adhesive layer thicker than recommended (refer to manufacturer guidelines)
Non-absorbent tiles on non-absorbent substrates (use with Isolastic in this case)
Packaging
25 kg paper bags
4x5 kg carton boxes
Available in grey and white.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place. Shelf life in original unopened packaging — refer to packaging label.
Important Notes
Substrate must be sound, clean, and free from grease, dust and loose material before application
Cement substrates must be fully cured; do not tile on substrates still subject to shrinkage
Gypsum and anhydrite substrates must be abraded and primed before tiling
Protect from rain and direct sunlight after application; curing time depends on weather and humidity conditions
Product contains cement — wear protective gloves and goggles during application

FAQ
What class of tile adhesive is Kerabond T?
Per manufacturer data, Kerabond T meets EN 12004 class C1T — a standard non-slip cementitious tile adhesive. When mixed with Isolastic latex, it upgrades to C2ES2 class.
Can Kerabond T be used for exterior wall tiling?
Yes, it can be used for outdoor wall and floor tiling. For exterior tiling, ensure full back-buttering coverage. External wall tiling must comply with product specifications and structural engineer recommendations.
What is the difference between white and grey?
Both have identical performance. White is recommended for light-coloured tiles and glass mosaics to prevent colour show-through, while grey is suitable for general tile installation.
