Sika SikaTop-300 Seal

Sika SikaTop-300 Seal

Summary:

SikaTop®-300 Seal is a 2-component, polymer-modified, highly elastic cementitious waterproofing slurry with excellent crack-bridging capability (~250% elongation at break). Suitable for terraces, balconies, wet areas and window frame surroundings. Features frost/salt resistance to -10°C, anti-carbonation protection, low VOC and non-toxic formulation.

SikaTop-300 Seal — Highly Elastic Cementitious Waterproofing Slurry

SikaTop®-300 Seal is a 2-component, polymer-modified, highly elastic cementitious waterproofing coating. Component A is a liquid polymer with additives and Component B is Portland Cement with selected aggregates. It is applied to concrete and mortar substrates as an elastic waterproofing coating to prevent water infiltration, with excellent crack-bridging capability for areas subject to movement.

Key Features

  • Highly elastic with good crack-bridging capability (~250% elongation at break)
  • Pre-batched components with consistent quality
  • Easily applied by roller or brush
  • Good adhesion to sound substrates
  • Cementitious with low VOC — non-regulated under Hong Kong Air Pollution Control regulations
  • Impermeable — 0 mm water penetration at 50 m head of water
  • Increased frost and salt resistance — resistant to freezing and thawing to -10°C
  • Decreases carbon dioxide penetration (anti-carbonation)
  • Non-toxic, same as cement

Applications

  • Waterproofing — elastic waterproofing coating for concrete and mortar surfaces
  • Crack sealing — sealing of hairline cracks and protective coating against aggressive elements
  • Anti-carbonation — protective coating in concrete repair work against carbon dioxide penetration
  • Terraces and balconies — exposed terrace and balcony waterproofing
  • Wet areas — kitchens, bathrooms, showers and laundries
  • Window frame surroundings — waterproof sealing around window frames

Important Notes

  • Minimum ambient and substrate temperature is 8°C for application
  • Never apply more than 2 kg/m² per single layer
  • Minimum 2 coats required; for critical areas, apply a third coat
  • Substrate must be concrete or mortar — clean, sound, free from grease, oil and loosely adhering particles
  • Steel and iron surfaces must be clean, free from scale, rust, grease and oil
  • Absorbent surfaces must be thoroughly saturated with water prior to application — no standing water
  • A bond coat using a mixture of Sika Latex and cement is recommended for better keying
  • Mix using a slow speed mixer (~500 rpm) with uplifted notched disk paddle for approx. 3 minutes until lump-free
  • Allow 2–4 hours at 25°C for the first coat to cure before applying following coats
  • Additional stripe coat recommended over cracks, wall/floor intersections and locations subject to movement
  • Sika® SealTape F recommended at joints and corners in wet areas for advanced water tightness
  • Protect freshly applied material from direct sunlight, wind, rain and frost during curing
  • Minimum 3 days curing before water ponding test or subsequent finishes
  • Clean all tools with clean water immediately after use — hardened material can only be removed mechanically
  • Non-regulated under Hong Kong Air Pollution Control (Volatile Organic Compounds) Regulation

FAQ

What is the difference between SikaTop-300 Seal and SikaTop-107 Seal?

SikaTop-300 Seal is a highly elastic waterproofing slurry with ~250% elongation at break, offering far greater crack-bridging capability than SikaTop-107 Seal. SikaTop-300 Seal is better suited for exposed environments (terraces, balconies) and substrates with greater movement. For general interior bathroom waterproofing, SikaTop-107 Seal HK is sufficient.

Can SikaTop-300 Seal be used for basement waterproofing?

SikaTop-300 Seal is primarily designed for terraces, balconies, wet areas and window frame surroundings. For basement waterproofing requirements, please WhatsApp us for suitable waterproofing solutions.

How is SikaTop-300 Seal applied?

Shake Component A (liquid) before use, pour into a clean mixing container, then slowly add Component B (powder) while mixing at low speed (~500 rpm) for approximately 3 minutes until creamy and lump-free. Apply the first coat to the pre-wetted surface by brush, roller or squeegee. Allow 2–4 hours curing at 25°C, then apply the second coat. Refer to the Sika product data sheet for detailed instructions.

What is the coverage of SikaTop-300 Seal?

Approx. 1 kg/m² per coat, with a maximum of 2 kg/m² per single layer and minimum 2 coats required. A 45 kg set covers approximately 22 m² (based on 2 coats). Actual coverage depends on substrate roughness and coating thickness.
